Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 July 2026

BitHedge is published by Paxa Media j.d.o.o. (Croatia). This policy covers the BitHedge iOS app only. It is deliberately separate from the general Paxa Media privacy policy, which describes a consulting business with an entirely different data posture and does not apply to this app.

BitHedge collects nothing. There is no account, no login, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no crash reporting, and no third-party SDK of any kind. Paxa Media operates no server for BitHedge and receives no data from it, ever. We could not identify a BitHedge user if we were asked to.

Your recovery phrase and private keys never leave your device. They are encrypted with a key held in your iPhone’s Secure Enclave, stored in the iOS Keychain marked WhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly — a class Apple excludes from iCloud and iTunes backups — and decrypted only in memory, only while you are signing a transaction you approved.

What stays on your device

All of it:

Deleting the app deletes this data. Nothing is retained anywhere else, because there is nowhere else.

What leaves your device, and to whom

BitHedge is a bitcoin wallet, and bitcoin is a network. To show your balance and to send a payment, your phone must talk to a Bitcoin blockchain server. This is the only network traffic the app generates.

By default your phone queries these public Esplora services directly:

ServiceOperatorUsed for
mempool.spaceMempool Space K.K.Address history, broadcasting transactions, fee estimates, BTC price
blockstream.infoBlockstream CorporationAutomatic failover if the above is unreachable

What those operators can see: your IP address, and the wallet addresses you ask about. That is inherent to querying a blockchain server, not something BitHedge adds. Those requests go from your phone to them directly — they do not pass through Paxa Media, and we receive no copy, no log, and no summary of them. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies, not this one.

How to avoid it entirely: Settings → Chain source lets you point BitHedge at your own Bitcoin node. When you do, the app talks only to your node and never falls back to a public server, because falling back would leak your wallet to precisely the party you configured a node to avoid.

What we do not do

Camera

BitHedge asks for camera access for one purpose: scanning a QR code containing a bitcoin address or payment request. Frames are processed on device and never stored or transmitted. Declining the permission only means you type addresses by hand.

This website

This site is statically generated and hosted on Vercel. It sets no cookies, embeds no analytics, and runs no third-party scripts. The live bitcoin price shown on the wallet page is fetched by the server every few minutes and served to everyone alike, so your browser never contacts a price API and no request of yours is attributable to you. Vercel keeps standard server access logs as our hosting provider; we do not analyse them or join them to anything.

Children

BitHedge is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction).

Your rights

The GDPR and similar laws give you rights over personal data a company holds about you — access, correction, erasure, portability, objection. Paxa Media holds no personal data from BitHedge users, so there is nothing for us to disclose or erase. If you contact us to exercise these rights, that is the answer we will give you, and you are entitled to ask us to put it in writing.

Note that the Bitcoin blockchain itself is a public, permanent, append-only record operated by no one. Transactions recorded on it cannot be erased by us, by you, or by any authority.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes and the current version is published at this URL. Material changes that affect what the app does will also be described in the App Store release notes for the version that introduces them.
